Executive
Advisory Board
Made up
of senior executives of organizations, the Accelerated Masters Degree
Program Executive Advisory Board meets with faculty on a regular
basis to advise on curriculum and content. In this way the Program
continues to meet the needs of industry executives while maintaining
connections to real-world business situations.
Members of the
Executive Advisory Board for the Accelerated Master’s
Program in Systems and Information Engineering have included representation
from such prominent national and internationally corporations as American
Management Systems, SAIC, Accenture Incorporated and Lockheed Martin.
Here’s what Michael Condon, Partner of Accenture
Incorporated, and Executive Advisory Board member, has to say about
the Program:
"The
Accelerated Master's Degree Program offers a number of distinct
advantages for working professionals. First of all, its aggressive
schedule makes
it possible for professionals to complete a master’s
degree while working full-time. Second, it is held on Grounds
at the University of Virginia,
making it easier for students to focus exclusively on their
classes, while taking advantage of the resources of the nation’s
best public university—including
access to some of the very best professors in the field. Finally,
it brings students together with other people with similar
backgrounds and
career
interests. As a result, classes have an unusual immediacy and
practical relevancy.
For corporations,
the Accelerated Master's Degree Program is an effective means of
retaining highly motivated individuals, rewarding
them for
their achievement by providing a significant opportunity
for personal and professional
growth. At the same time, the Accelerated Master's Degree
Program produces immediate benefits for employers. Participants
return
from each weekend
session with new skills and insights that they can apply
to their work."
